City beach

After a 7-minute walk you are at the city beach. This beach of over 4,000 m2 is a big crowd puller in the summer months.

It is also a good location for sporting events such as a beach volleyball tournament, boot camp training and the Frisbee City League.

Noorderplantsoen

The Noorderplantsoen is a 12-minute walk away. This park developed from a sand ridge, via a city wall and a stately garden into a place where young and old come together and enjoy art and culture.

When the weather is nice, you can lie down in the grass on the banks of the pond, surrounded by beautiful, special trees.

At the end of August, it is the location for Noorderzon, a grand festival with theatre, dance and music.

Parking

The parking garage ‘Circus’ (Korreweg 9, 9715 AA) is a 10-minute walk away (4 minutes by car) and costs €12 per 24 hours.

In the city you can park on the street publicly. During the day you pay €4.50 per hour.

An interesting free parking spot is P+R Kardinge (Kardingerplein, 9735 AA). There are 780 parking spaces with sufficient charging stations for electric cars. Bus 3 and 4 run every 6 minutes to the Zaagmuldersbrug bus stop on our corner. The ride takes 3 minutes and costs €1.47. You pay with your OV chip card or debit card.

On the edge of the district, a 10-minute walk away on the corner of Korreweg-Ulgersmaweg (9731 BR), you can park for free all day. There are no houses there, so there is less supervision. By car, you have to take a 10-minute detour because the car bridge is being repaired.
